Still Here.

I sit alone in a venue and look at my bank account. It reads something that any normal 28 year old would have a heart attack over. And I look up and realize in in Copenhagen Denmark. I look at my sweat stained shirt and ripped up jeans still wet from the gig. I look around at these people. The “others”, the non real lifers, my peers, my friends. I look back at a text from my wife saying she misses me and pictures of my friends having fun, and emails from my mom about family parties. Am I seeing more than I’m missing?! Is it even?

And every night, I step on stage and give it ALL. I vibe for 30 minutes with my four other brothers and sweat, no, bleed this band. This isn’t our hobby or even job, its our fucking life.

I’ve watched countless bands cruise by on gimmicks, trends and corner markets and ride to the top without giving a single fuck about what they’re doing. I mean, they even say they don’t in their songs, And I watch these bands play under us and in 6 months won’t even take us on tour. Barely even remember my name.

But this is my message to bands, Internet shit talkers, true music supporters, fucking punk ass local kids, promoters, agents, managers, my mom, my friends, your boss, your boyfriend and you…

I LOVE music, I BELIEVE in the power it holds and I WILL continue this fight till I have nothing left.

We don’t do this for money, cuz there isn’t much to make, we don’t do it to be “known” or for any level of ridiculous fame. No, we do this cuz we know people out there feel us and have the same life, the same pain, the same love. We are the same.

I’m calling you out. If you feel us, our music, fuck, even music in general, save a few dollars and come see us or any REAL band. For 30 mins, feel with us, let it out with us, be with us. Don’t be afraid, just let it go.

This, for now, is ALL we have.

Please be a part of it.

We are still here, still pledged to what we started years ago. Passion.

Or whether you like them first, or before they were “cool.” If you complain about your favorite band actually making it and becoming successful and well known, you’re not supporting your band. The whole point of music is for it to be heard. “Selling out” only exists to the condescending hipster. Tattoo artist Ryan Fitzgerald from Dayton, OH was hit with a $100,000 lawsuit last week by his ex-girlfriend Rossie Brovent. She claims that her boyfriend was supposed to tattoo a scene from Narnia on her back but instead tattooed an image of a pile of excrement with flies buzzing around it.

Apparently, Ryan found out that Rossie had cheated with a long-time friend of his, but instead of confronting her about it he acted like everything was normal and hatched a plan for revenge. Originally, Rossie tried to have Ryan charged with assault, but the ingenious tattoo artist had covered his bases by plying Rossie with wine and tequila shots and getting her to sign a consent form that stated the design was “at the artist’s discretion.”

No word from Rossie on whether the illicit night of passion with Ryan’s friend was worth it. Moral of the story? Never cheat on a tattoo artist.
